Making of CrossBuggy

MAKING OF THE STYLISH ALL-TERRAIN BUGGY

Developed by

We were fortunate to be able to engage the renowned German design company Busse Design + Engineering as our development partner. The company Busse is well-known for its successful design work including, among many others, the Römer child car seat, the Kässbohrer Pistenbully snow groomer and the Viking lawn mower. With the YippieYo, the company has succeeded in creating an all-terrain buggy that is lightweight, stable and manoeuvrable, even on difficult surfaces.

The central idea behind the design of this product is a totally new interpretation of already existing vehicle properties, such as stability, safety, manoeuvrability, dynamics, and style. Unlike standard pushchairs, pull-along carts or bicycle trailers, the new “Crossbuggy” has been developed and constructed in such a way that it retains all the aforementioned properties even on tough terrain (forest, mountains, beach, city) and overcomes obstacles with ease.» Michael Tinius, Head Designer at Busse Design + Engineering

Manufactured and tested in Switzerland and Germany

Each and every buggy is manufactured as a one-off item in Switzerland then assembled in Germany. The aluminium tubes are formed into shape by means of an elaborate air-bending process before being welded together by hand to create a robust framework, then powder coated. All the components are obtained from European brand manufacturers and contain no harmful substances. The YippieYo all-terrain buggy complies with all relevant safety standards (GS certification – guaranteed safety) and has covered several times the stipulated distance for the pushchair endurance test in the German testing laboratory.

Ready to transport in just 3 simple steps

Just three simple steps and the all-terrain buggy is ready to transport – simply collapse the backrest and the pull-bar and remove the wheels using the quick-release mechanism, and your YippieYo is compact enough to fit in almost any car boot.
