The story begins in the sixties with Heinz Höfelmann in Germany.
The sporty father wanted to take his children on longer off-road trips but could not find a suitable transport option for it. Thus, he developed a new vehicle for his two sons, Kurt and Jörg, which was specifically designed for journeys on uneven terrain. He combined the advantages of a pull-along wagon, a stroller, and a hiking child carrier. Unlike a child carrier, he did not want to have to carry his children on his back. From the pull-along wagon, he adopted the principle of pulling via a drawbar, so that obstacles could be overcome more easily. However, unlike the pull-along wagon, he constructed a vehicle with only a single axle, thereby achieving significantly greater agility and maneuverability. With this self-made “child carriage,” he undertook numerous trips with his sons through meadows and forests.
